Cara Cristina D’Avena, questa non è soltanto una lettera di buon compleanno.

Questo che sto per scriverti è anche una piccola dedica, è un grazie per tutte quelle volte che, da bambina, ho acceso la tv e ho cantato insieme a te.

Anche se sono sempre stata stonata.

Anche se certe volte canto con te ancora adesso che sono grande.

Questo è un grazie perché sei la voce della mia infanzia.

Mila e Shiro! Due cuori nella pallavolo. Mila e Shiro! Che dolce sentimento è.

E niente, come si suol dire: c’è chi l’ha letta cantando e chi mente. Perché, miei cari, io vi sfido ad avere tra i diciotto e i trenta anni e non aver letto questa frase a ritmo di musica. Ebbene sì, cara Cristina D’Avena, questo è un po’ quello che hai creato nella mente della nostra generazione: un patrimonio di canzoni che non dimenticheremo mai e che non potremmo mai fare a meno di canticchiare, quando ci passano sotto orecchio.

Sono gli Ham-Ham friends: così piccoli, vivacissimi, ma dolcissimi. Si nascondono dove vogliono, per restare poi sempre accanto a noi.

Cara Miss D’Avena, devo dirti che in ho dovuto scegliere tra te e il mio professore di italiano delle elementari, perché le mie mani hanno sentito la tentazione di mettere le virgole ad ogni pausa che fai tu cantando questa canzone. Perché sì, mentre scrivevo, la scrivevo cantando!

Non ce la faccio, è più forte di me, volevo raccontare una piccola curiosità, qualcosa di te a chi leggerà questo breve pezzo, ma mentre scrivo mi torna in mente la tua voce e tutte le canzoni che hanno riempito i pomeriggi della mia infanzia. E per raccontarti, non trovo modo migliore di questo. Perché tu sei questo: sei tutte le canzoni che ci fai cantare ancora adesso che siamo adulti.

Non si dice mai l’età di una donna, nemmeno il giorno del suo compleanno. Però un aneddoto vorrei raccontarvelo.

Avete mai avuto l’occasione di ascoltate Cristina D’Avena parlare senza microfono? Se sì, avrete sicuramente riconosciuto – come me – lo stesso timbro di voce di una volta, la stessa voce di una bambina che canta ancora queste e tantissime altre canzoni, le stesse canzoni che ci hanno accompagnato nella nostra crescita.

Lei è cambiata, ma la sua voce è rimasta sempre la stessa: è ancora la voce che ci riporta indietro nei ricordi di quando eravamo bambini.

In un’intervista Cristina D’Avena ha raccontato un episodio che ha vissuto durante un suo concerto: ha detto “una volta ad un mio concerto è arrivato un ragazzo con barba, piercing e birra. Ho pensato: si sarà sbagliato. Poi quando ho iniziato a cantare Memole e lui è scoppiato a piangere, ho capito: l’infanzia è il rifugio di tutti.”

Forse tu che sei arrivato fin qui potrai aver fatto un giro nei ricordi che avevi accantonato da un po’, o forse stai pensando che solo un bambino scriverebbe certe cose.

Se fai parte del secondo gruppo, un po’ mi dispiace: io mi sento come quel ragazzo con piercing e birra, anche se non ho piercing.

perché non importa come tu sia cresciuto, cosa tu sia diventato o quanto lontano tu sia andato, quei ricordi di quando eri bambino, se li hai persi, un giorno ti mancheranno talmente tanto che dovrai per forza tornare a cercarli. 

Spero che quel giorno arrivi presto.

Intanto io continuerò a domandarmi perché ricordo canzoni che non ascolto da anni ma il capitolo che ho studiato questa mattina manco per niente. Cara Cristina D’Avena, non è che ti andrebbe di cantarci anche qualche libro per l’università?
