Ciao Denise! Per rompere il ghiaccio perché non ci racconti un po’ chi sei?
«Cari amici, vorrei spiegarvi un po’ meglio chi sono: sono una persona che ama vedersi elegante e femminile, ma che vorrebbe uscire dallo stereotipo che molti hanno della travestita un po’ “volgarotta” da film italiano degli anni Ottanta, vorrei rappresentare una visione diversa, che va verso un futuro dove l’integrazione e l’espressione di sé sono possibili, al di là delle etichette spesso soffocanti che la società ci impone.
La vostra amicizia e il vostro sostegno sono importanti in questo percorso che è personale ma, attraverso la mia evoluzione e la mia crescita, il superamento di mille dubbi e paure, vuole anche essere uno sprone e un invito per tutti a vedersi con occhi diversi e cercare di cambiare un pochino il mondo camminando in bilico con i tacchi alti, ma non per questo meno degni di rispetto e amicizia».
Trovo stupenda la tua ultima frase. Posso chiederti, invece, come nasce la tua passione per la moda?
«Ci nasci, nel vero senso della parola.
Sono passioni che si formano fin dalla nascita e non hanno genere di apparenza, è la società che ci impone di comportarci in modo innaturale e ci costringe a ricoprire un ruolo. Negli ultimi anni c’è stata un’apertura ed una maggiore consapevolezza dei propri mezzi.
Diciamocela tutta fino a poco tempo fa le donne non potevano mettere i pantaloni, se ci pensiamo è assurdo!».
Ti ispiri a qualcuno in particolare?
«In Italia poche cross-dresser lo fanno con una certa audacia e con sfrontatezza.
Molte di noi si sentono donne, o viceversa uomini, e iniziano una terapia ormonale per vedere, allo specchio, quello che hanno sempre sognato fin dalla nascita. Per quanto riguarda me stessa ho un ottimo rapporto con il mio gemello, quindi non ho intenzione di cambiare sesso».
Parliamo un po’ del cross-dressing?
Lascio a te la parola che ne saprai molto più di me.
«Il termine cross-dressing, reso in italiano pure con travestitismo, è un termine inglese che letteralmente significa “il vestire in modo opposto” e identifica l’atto o l’abitudine di indossare, pubblicamente e/o in privato, abitualmente o saltuariamente, per svariati motivi inclusi quelli puramente ludici, abiti che in un determinato ambito socio-culturale sono comunemente associati al ruolo di genere opposto al proprio.
La persona che pratica il crossdressing è detta crossdresser».
Sappiamo che il crossdressing è totalmente indipendente dall’orientamento sessuale dell’individuo e non ne definisce l’identità di genere, ma sappiamo anche che ancora oggi esistono molti pregiudizi a riguardo.
Hai mai avuto difficoltà nel relazionarti con gli altri o magari nel portare avanti una relazione?
«Attualmente no anche perché ho sempre preferito essere onesta con le mie compagne e spiegare in modo sincero la mia visione di vita sia a livello mentale che visivo.
Per quanto riguarda le amicizie, attualmente, non lo sanno in molti.
Il mio sogno è raggiungere con i social un traguardo importante per portare a spada tratta questo messaggio di uguaglianza con tutti.
Io dico sempre, alla fine sono solo vestiti!».
Esistono crossdresser che indossano i capi che vogliono soltanto in privato per paura del giudizio altrui?
«La maggior parte si veste in privato ed esistono moltissime persone legate in una prigione casalinga, o addirittura che indossano gli indumenti del compagno o della compagna di nascosto.
Ricordiamoci che il crossdressing è per entrambi i sessi di nascita, nelle donne è meno evidente visto che culturalmente la loro moda abbraccia molti capi di genere maschile di appartenenza».
Cosa diresti a chi giudica negativamente il crossdressing?
«Gli direi di guardare sé stessi e di rispettare le scelte altrui.
Io credo sia necessario dare ad ognuno la piena libertà, nel limite in cui questa non leda al prossimo… ed io cosa potrei mai fare vestito da donna? (risata)».
